Available operating system images
Operating system availability varies by data center. However, all system disks include a pre-installed, cloud-ready blank operating system image. Due to licensing restrictions, Windows Server is generally only available for G1 instances. Major GNU/Linux distributions are accessible in all data centers, while FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and similar systems are available in select regions.
Below is a limited list of available images as of 2024. Additional images, including pre-installed applications, are available in many regions. You also have the option to install a custom ISO if desired.
